Labor Day Carcast

Tonight wifey and I debated the use of cell phones while driving. Recently this was made illegal in California without the use of a headset. Frankly not much has changed, people who were horrible drivers to begin with are still chatting away, hand promptly stuck to ear.

Enjoy, and please no jokes about the dangers of video blogging while driving. :)

A Few Words with Shira Lazar

I recently attended a coworking lunch get together at the Loews Hotel in Santa Monica, CA. Essentially, a group of techies get together to share a workspace and a few ideas. As far as the Loews for an office, well you could certainly do worse. In fact, how one could get any work done in such a nice environment, I don’t know.

Before heading back to my somewhat less posh office, I sat down with Shira Lazar.  Sometimes refereed to as a “killer app“, Shira hosts a weekly show for NBC called “1st Look LA“. She also blogs and lifestreams over at The Pop Report. Finally, when shes not doing all that she can be found around LA and San Fran, gathering more crushes than I have Twitter followers.

Enjoy.

Hollywood Birthdays

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Last night we celebrated the birthday of one Nicole Jordan. Well loved in the LA tech community, Nicole booked a private venue for 150 of her closest friends. It was a little too loud and dark to shoot video inside but I did manage to document the rather amusing club exodus.

For us, the night ended locked outside a strangers house in Laurel Canyon followed by grilled cheese. Enjoy.

Let Me Give You Money

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Actually let my work, here is what we need:

  • Content Manager (another me): Someone familiar with large content based sites, we have 500,000 documents and need to get to 10 million. Experience in the areas of vertical based content with heavy SEO goodness a must. The ability to reach out and setup content partnerships with large websites/businesses. This is a full time job, soon to be located in Santa Monica, CA. If you refer someone who works out after 3 months I’ll give you $500.
  • Wordpress Plugin Developer: We need to create an plugin very similar to easytube. In addition to easing the embed process, it needs to pull and select content directly from our site as well. This is a one time contract gig. Our site is ASP.net btw, strange I know. :)
