About Sean

Mini Bio:
Sean Percival is a web developer and author with many years experience of messing around on the Internet for fun and profit. He has been featured in Forbes Magazine, The Orange County Register and several online publications. Sean Percival lives in Los Angeles, CA with his wife Laurie.

The Back Story:
If you asked my dad about me he would probably tell you a story about me programming the VCR for him at age 4 and a year later helping him check his email. The year was 1985 so as I’m sure you can imagine the process and applications used to access email were far from what we enjoy today. For some reason after all these years I still vividly remember the process of setting up the acoustic coupler, dialing, accessing his email and the warm green glow of the monitor. Beyond that the natural progression took place for any kid with too much free time and access to an unhealthy amount of electronics. By age 14 I was running my own BBS system and exploring the newly accessible Internet. Unfortunately at the same time I began to get distracted with high school and lets not forget girls. I continued to work on the Internet and web development but overall I missed the first Internet gold rush and thankfully the inevitable dot com bust.

Fast forward to present day and we find ourselves in a Web 2.0 world with opportunity everywhere and an overwhelming amount of new and exciting web services available. To be honest I am not 100% sure what my role should be in this new media but I want explore many avenues before truly deciding. I enjoy social media of all flavors, aggregation, virtual worlds and the concept of human curation. I like to say crazy things like “copy write is soon to be a relic of the past” and “soon everything will be wireless, even electricity “.

My Wife:

The one who keeps me right, balanced and even politely listens me drone on about tech news and virtual worlds. Without her I don’t know where I’d be, she is my muse, my teacher and my love.
