Kudos — I referenced this post on my own blog as an example of how using solid SEO techniquest can get a blog post immediately to the first page of a Google search.
haha! DUDE. Just watched the daily show and i was like, “Sean’s blog?” LOL. It’s wicked cool seeing a fellow tech friend getting some link love from a Jon Stewart google shout out.
Jon didn’t promise anything — he was simply making a poop porn joke. I applaud Sean for taking the initiative for creating a page for people who took the joke seriously (or were just curious) to find.

Thank you Dean, (Count me to the curious ones)
Ok appearently my vocabulary lacks poop porn terms. Still no pictures on google searching it though ^^
Not sure if it proves anything about Wordpress. It does show the importance of the title tag. It also shows the importance of credibility. Sean’s blog has been generating a lot of traffic for a while. Presumably, it has a lot of inbound links. That gets a lot of weight. Timing also comes into play. Sean was the first of us to put up a post optimized for the term. He deserves to be there.
My post (from a relatively new blog) has description tags and meta tags and everything else I can think of, which is why it has hung in there on page one. Notice that the post for the guy at #2 (the best spot for post about scat) it is made up of a few jumbled sentences. He does have keyword density. On top of that Lockergnome also has been around a while has lots of traffic and lots of inbound links. It is an amazing puzzle.
It is an old news , that keywords meta tag is not much considered by Google. the description meta tag is debated, the description mostly useful though on pages that lack much text in it. Google loves the content, and somebody said the title tag, and the links, the page ranking. also remember, he entered the right keyword
Let this blog use something very popular & common, the competition will be very hard to get first spot.
but wordpress also designed well, and they have in their mind the search bots. also you can ping your post when you post to some other sites.

Alas, you have the wrong video in this post. The video Stewart was referencing is found here http://koifishcommunications.com/blog/web-development-search-engine-marketing/muppet-scat-daily-show-seo-00748/

April 16th, 2009 at 1:11 am

April 16th, 2009 at 1:50 am
yeah. am here too b/c of Jon. thanks for the link.
April 16th, 2009 at 2:41 am
Small edit;
Watch John Stewart tonight? Fine! Here’s your damn Muppet Scat!
The extra exasperation works for me.
April 16th, 2009 at 8:01 am
I was watching John Stewart this morning and I paused to google.
Not what I was expecting.
April 16th, 2009 at 11:20 am
So… what exactly did you do to get this blog on the top of the muppet scat google list? Just title tags? Or more? That’s unclear to me.
I love the Daily Show by the way. And Colbert. Great to see a vibrant online community who is also doing exactly what Jon tells us to do.
April 16th, 2009 at 2:10 pm
okay, that’s cool, but i gotta get back to the daily show…

Jon is the king!

Watched the show last night aired here in Sweden, Europe! Dissapointed at the “lots of interesting pictures” that Jon promised from googling it.

There are no pictures — he just said if you Google Muppet Scat you might find something other than the video. He wasn’t being literal.

Meta tags? Not one keyword and no description… This is absolute proof that search bots love WordPress
