From Manolith – Ryan Moats Story
NFL Player Ryan Moats sat in the back of Dallas Police squad car last Wednesday at a local hospital, while his mother-in-law died only seconds away. This sad story all started after Ryan Moats was phoned at his home that evening about his ailing mother-in-law, who didn’t have much time, and that would most likely pass that evening. (more)

What a classy man and woman. I’m caucasin and I wouldn’t have had the grace and where with all to handle the situation as he and his wife did let a lone to acccept that Gestapo police officer’s “apology”. Ryan you and your wife have embarrassed me and opened my eyes. Thank you and I am truly sorry for what you had to endure.

You are within a block of the hospital with your flashers on,
you turn into and park at the hospital. You would think the office would
have a little clue that this might be an emergency and at least listen
to your story !!!

An ATF officer stops at a ranch in North Dakota, and talks with an old rancher.
He tells the rancher, ‘I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown
drugs.’The old rancher says, ‘Okay, but do not go in that field over there.’
The ATF officer verbally explodes saying, ‘Mister, I have the authority of the
Federal Government with me.’ Reaching into his rear pants pocket, he removes his
badge and proudly displays it to the farmer. ‘See this badge? This badge means
I am allowed to go wherever I wish…on any land. No questions asked or answers
given. Have I made myself clear? Do you understand?’
The old rancher nods politely, apologizes, and goes about his chores. A short
time later, the old rancher hears loud screams and sees the ATF officer running
for his life chased close behind by the rancher’s prize bull. With every step
the bull is gaining ground on the officer, and it seems likely that he’ll get
“horned” before he reaches safety. The officer is clearly terrified. The old
rancher throws down his tools, runs to the fence and yells at the top of his
lungs…..
‘Your badge! Show him your badge!!!

An apology is far from necessary. The law is the law, period and he ran a red light. What if Moats had hit and killed someone while running the light? Would he have still gotten off the hook?

If it was anyone else; your normal citizen there would be such a fuss. The people would get their ticket or what ever and it would be done with. Like Sara said what if he would have killed someone going though that red light. The law should be the law for EVERYONE. Im sorry that they or he was not there when the MIL died and that is a moment that you will never get back and for that im truely sorry but come on!!!! Im tired of seeing professional athletes getting special treatment all the time! If Ryan Moats would have conducted himself with better mannors and been polite to the officer rather then yelling im sure the officer would have been more understanding. Im sad to see that an upcoming officer of the law ended up quiting his job due to this. VERY VERY sad situtation for all involved.

This has set precedent. From now on any body enroute to a hospital in the Dallas area can speed, run red lights, and fail to stop for police as along as the following are met:
1.) percieved medical emergency of a patient at a local hospital;
2.) Use you hazard flashers till you get there;
**Public vehicle are now emergency vehicles only if these reqs are met.
Any police officer that interferes will be fired or forced to resign……….

Are you people kidding me. The officer did his job properly and was forced to resign because of it. That would have never happen in new jersey. If he ran the red light and killed your family member you wouldn’t be posting nonsense about this. He should have been arrested for eluding. ARE YOU PEOPLE KIDDING ME!!! The chief and the governor that backed the suspect should be fired.

to you people who say no symphathy …the law is the law..you apparantly don’t share the same type of love for your relatives as others do..He could not have ran through the light and killed anybody because …he slowed down…and waited until the coast was clear..before he proceeded..
I ask you is a stop sign any different? In addition to that..The people at the red light saw his flashers on and gave him the right of way..just like I would have done..Apparantly…you who say..no quarter no mercy..I want to hear your comments when it’s your child in the car..or when it’s your mother on her death bed..You are only saying this because he was black..and the cop was white…if that had been Eli Manning the cop would have given him an escort with his lights flashing..I have seen it before both ways..The cop only got concerned when it was brought to national attention..for 10 days..he was spouting off..about “I was just doing my job”.The chief of police and the governer are politicians that live in cities where the so-called minority are slowly becoming the majority..And it is an election year..That cop resigned because the investigation started unraveling other situations where he abused his badge and gun..Thats why he ran rather than face the music..He pulled his gun out and pointed it ..those of you in the what if category..”What if he had shot and killed Moats or his wife..”Then the headlines would have read “Police officer shoots and kills couple to keep them from seeing her dying mother for the last time”..Now we are getting somewhere !!oh I almost forgot..the crime they committed ..shot dead in the back..for cruising through the red light..that cop was totally wrong..I was a cop…that chose to enter military service.. trust me I have seen it all…Let’s flip the script..”My mother-in-law is dying”(There are no weapons of mass destruction..they are running towards the emergency room door..not towards him..so that dismisses the just cause for the exhibition of deadly force..the cop says..Okay let me escort you up” and the headlines reads ..”Hero cop escorts family of NFL star to see their dying relative before death..Oh I almost forgot..he never once mentioned that he played pro football…imagine that…In conclusion I concur with the rancher…When death taps the bedside of you or one of your relatives..”just tell your dying relative after they are dead especially when they have been calling your name..for thirteen minutes…”I’m sorry that you died waiting on me..I chose to assist an idiot cop..in doing his job” rather than saying goodbye to you..better yet be sure to tell St.Peter at the entrance of the pearly gates..that you support people that have no compassion..just do your job…When he pulls the lever that transports people like you straight to HELL !!!and while Satan is frying you up..each time the flame hits you in the crack of your behind..just say to yourself “Oh well he’s just doing his job”…

I am about as right wing, law & order as anyone. My home page is set to rushlimbaugh.com. I know Ryan Moats and his wife personally. What you saw in their interviews and in the video is reflective of the tremendous class and dignity with which they live their lives. They are great Christian influences and the Moat’s gave us all a lesson here on how American citizens can and should behave in public, responsibly and gracefully as possible.
