Thank god, that the Engines did come off on impact, most likely, otherwise, the aircraft could have nosed over lower in the water, and came to rest lower in the water as well,due to the extra weight, which would have made rescue efforts much difficult, and perhaps not a 100% succdessful. Hats Off to the Pilot & Rescue crews as well. They All Did a heck of a fine Job Thanks Jerry heloman2@midmaine.com

I’m glad the pilot gave credit to his entire team, including the flight attendants. Flight attendants are trained to get everyone off of a plane within seconds to a couple of minutes of a crash landing. I’m sure their skill also helped get everyone off the plane before there were any casualties.

Lets not forget the co-pilot and other crew too. The Work load in that cocpit in the last 3 minutes must have been very heavy. GOOD TEAM WORK guys.

Thank you, Laura! Bloomberg says the same thing and the media seem to be having a battle between the “it’s a miracle” guys and the “masterful pilot” guys. I am really sick of every unexpectedly good outcome being called a miracle. There is a perfectly fine explanation of what happened – no miracle needed.

It was not a miracle, let’s give credit where credit was due. A very skilled pilot.

The pilot is to be recognized for his calm and his step by step knowledge to know how to accomplish emergency landing procedures in water.
