A nice photo slideshow of the 2008 Olympics Opening Ceremony. Beijing held its formal opening ceremony today, August 8, for the 2008 Summer Olympics. The ceremony, held in the National Stadium known as the Bird’s Nest, was attended by thousands, and watched by millions more on television. Below are some highlights of the nearly 4-hour performance.

[...] I challenge you to find that in the USA… Most kids become accustomed early on to expect ‘mass spectator’ style coverage of events that ‘sell’ rather than necessarily find the sports, athletes, or human interest stories that interest them, providing kids are even tuning in to the Olympics at all.
