Great blog post Sean. Crystal recommended that I come over here and read it, especially when I started trying to figure out why I would use the favorites option. This post addresses the use for that, and brings up several other issues of interest as well. Very good food for thought. Keep it up!

Great post, Sean. I even follow someone who plans to use her twits as a journal, Twitter is where she puts her basic thoughts and doings on a regular basis and she will migrate them to a more ‘permanent’ home at a later time. I suppose that sometime it may be a good idea for each of us to pull our twits, along with our faves (I have 327 – I save for many different reasons) and save them in another format for posterity. Or at least for our descendants….

On some services, there’s a special “memorial” status for a blog/journal/profile/whatever of someone who has died. I’m also a Livejournal user, and LJ for example has a “memorial” status which a family member of the deceased can ask to be applied. The journal is basically frozen and guaranteed to stick around as long as the service does.
